After 20+ years in my business, it’s time for a new exploration of “where to from here.” I’m calling that exploration The Emergence Project.
For the last two decades, the focus of my work has been helping people live a life of “Aliveness & Impact.” The calling that won’t let me go – you could call it my purpose – lies at the heart of those two interconnected themes, working at the crossroads of people’s inner thriving and the difference they have the potential to make in the world.
The Emergence Project is about creating a space to explore the shape that calling wants to take in the future. My aim is to have 100 conversations to discover what wants to emerge.
Project focus
The Emergence Project is about exploring without an agenda. I’m not pitching anything, just making room for questions and exploration. It’s about curiosity, connection, and discovery, all within the context of exploring how to serve Aliveness & Impact.
Context
The conversations will be framed by the interconnected concepts of Aliveness (how to feel more energized and alive and less stressed and depleted) and Impact (the potential we all have have an impact and make a difference).
One of the core ways I think about how my work supports Aliveness & Impact is inspired by the line from an Oliver Wendell Holmes poem that goes, “Alas for those that never sing, but die with all their music in them.” Figuratively speaking, my work is about helping people free their music.
I define that “music” as a combination of:
Voice: Authentic expression of who you are
Gifts: Strengths, skills, abilities, and knowledge
Juice: What makes life energizing, engaging, and meaningful
Contribution & Impact: The difference you make in the world
In the following links, I give a basic frame for what I mean by freeing your music, an overview of the areas of focus that contribute to that, and a nutshell description of the frameworks and models I have developed over the years.
